FYI

I will be posting pictures to my stories this weekend! Hope you will enjoy!

The Gas Crisis

As most of you have heard Atlanta (especially the northern suburbs where we live) is in a major gas crisis (not that the rest of America isn't but Atlanta has been ranked as the worst). Well, if you watch Fox national news, we have continued to make the headlines, and yes it is true, people have been waiting for hours for gas! Luckily, Jeremy and myself have been truly blessed to not have to wait to long, but some friends waited 3 hours for 1/2 gallon of gas! Talk about being ready to scream! God has definitely been looking out for this impatient chick! And my dear loving hubby as well! So with this post, I ask that you pray for us down here (and not just for us, but for everyone and the situation). But to FYI we live 30 minutes from the church and pretty much everything else with the exception of the grocery store which is only 2 minutes away (praise God for that one). Please pray that gas will get here and stay in full supply and that the prices will go down for everyone around America! Us Georgia peaches love you and thank you for your prayers!

Home Sweet Home (Sunday)

We got up early this morning hoping to make it back in time for church, but unfortunately that didn’t happen. We did finally get home safe and sound, but in the process of packing the car, one of my worst fears came true. My friend Wendy, Haley and myself were taking the last few things down to the car, when we got stuck on a crammed elevator with a bunch of bikers that reeked of cigarette smoke! Talk about panic attack! Well, lets just say I freaked out-and that is the understatement of the year! Luckily we weren’t on it for real long, but when you’re stuck it feels like eternity! I have never been so happy to see day light and smell fresh air in all my life! We ended up having to walk down about 6 flights of stairs, but poor Jeremy had to walk down about 20! Talk about a work out! At least he was going down for the very last time instead of going up! We finally made it home and back to our little humble abode that we call home right now. Even though I miss the beach, I’m thankful that I can call Woodstock home! I love it just as much here too! Just in different ways! Goodnight for now.

Vacation Day 6 (Saturday)

Yes it’s another gorgeous day down here in sunny Florida. I can’t believe that our last full day is over. Talk about a bummer. This week has been so relaxing and enjoyable. It has been the best week ever, even if the streets are filled with loud bikers and it takes forever to get anywhere, I’m still grinning from ear to ear! Again we laid out on the beach and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and soaked up the rays, we also enjoyed the salty ocean air (the best scent in all the world, that cannot be crammed into a candle no matter how hard you try)! This was an absolute gorgeous day, that was again filled with so much laughter, smiles, and no stress! We have really and truly enjoyed ourselves. I know that people wish that vacation didn’t have to end, but I really feel this way about this week. I have never been so relaxed in all my life, even with an energetic almost 2 year old who’s favorite thing to do is play under the foot shower. Life can’t get much better!

Vacation Day 5 (Friday)

What another beautiful day. The Gulf Coast is the next best thing to paradise! I can’t imagine how the beautiful heaven is going to be considering how absolutely beautiful it is down here! We have been so blessed that we’re still having excellent weather. Just to FYI it usually rains here every afternoon for about one hour, but the only time it has rained was Sunday night after we got here and we were on our way to bed. Our God is an awsome God for allowing us to be so truly blessed with a beautiful, free place to stay and to have gorgeous weather! Thank-You!

Well, again today we laid out on the beach and soaked up the rays all day and then tonight we actually went out for the first time (I’m not complaining this place is so much like home, I love just hanging out here). We went to a local restaurant, and Jeremy got his usual shrimp and scallops, I got my usual fried oysters and shrimp, and they were delicious! We learned tonight that Haley has another “high maintenance quality!” She loves shrimp. I had decided to share my food with her since she doesn’t eat that much, well she ate all of my shrimp but two. Don’t get me wrong I’m definitely not complaining, I’m thankful she ate. I do think it’s hilarious though that she can be so picky, but then love some things that most kids wouldn’t touch, like a couple of weeks ago she ate a ton of fried okra! I say yummy! Where even most adults are like gross! Anyways let me get off that subject. It was an absolute wonderful day and night. This is by far the best vacation I have ever been on!

Vacation Day 4 (Thursday)

Well today was another great day! My best bud in the world, Wendy came down to enjoy this beautiful beach with us. Jeremy and Haley stayed upstairs and napped while we had fun laying on the beach laughing and joking and just enjoying each others company. The two of us have so much in common it’s scary! (I will blog about that later though.) We finally decided to get out of the sun and go shopping, so we took Haley with us and Jeremy stayed and hung out and joyed “his time.”

Well, this was when the laughing tears really began. We decided to run by Chick-fil-a and get some sweet tea, before we went grocery shopping, and that was when the drama began! We went through the drive through, I paid, and the cashier handed me one tea, OK good so far, then she handed me another tea. Well in slow motion the top falls off and the entire large tea goes all over my dash, the floor, but mostly on my pants! My shorts were soaked completely. My seat had tea standing in it! But, the crazy thing was, it never touched my shirt or the hoodie I was wearing! I had to laugh, and even though I was now freezing, I wasn’t even mad! We then made our way back to the condo and off we went again.
This time we got stuck in traffic. Come to find out it is the start of bike week! No offense to anyone, but I’m by far not a bike chick (when I was in elementary school, my best friend’s dad almost died in a motorcycle accident, so that doesn’t help my look on them either). Anyways, it took us forever, to get to Target and then to Wal-Mart (yes, I went to Wal-Mart only because I couldn’t find an actual grocery store, but luckily I got to sit in the car and Wendy went in for me-I have panic attacks going to any Wal-Mart-and this is no joke). We finally made it back to this luxurious condo, and then Jeremy fired up the grill and we had some absolutely fabulous hamburgers! I am blessed to have a man that can truly grill some delicious food! We stuffed ourselves full until we could eat no more! Now off to bed we go!

Vacation Day 3 (Wednesday)

This morning we woke up and again it was another absolute gorgeous day. We went walking down the beach in our pajamas (all 3 of us)! Hey, we’re on vacation we can do whatever we want! We then spent the day again down stairs at the beach. Jeremy and myself made sand castles for Haley and she thought it was great to demolish them! We also went out into the ocean and of course we could hardly get Haley out of the water. I’m so thankful that she is a mini-beach bum! Later Jeremy and myself dug a hole and Haley got into and began to cover herself up all the way to her chest! I will say she had some help covering herself up when we realized that’s what she wanted to do. The funniest thing of the day was when we were leaving the beach though. I decided to pull her swimsuit and her swim diaper off and let her shower at the beach shower in the nude because she was so covered in sand. Let me just say that Jeremy and myself were in tears from laughing so hard as we watched her because she kept dancing and just having an absolute blast out there in the stark naked with a tan body, but a snow white behind. If only the rest of the world could have seen, the world would have had no tears except good ones for about 10-15 minutes yesterday.

Last night we had a great time as well. I made homemade shrimp jambalaya and let me just say that it was delicious. We watched the sunset again, and just enjoyed each other’s company. Life doesn’t get much better than this!

Vacation Day 2 (Tuesday)

What another absolute gorgeous day! The weather is absolutely perfect! It is cool in the morning and evenings and hot during the day! This morning Haley woke up at 6:00 am (that would mean 7:00 our time and that’s late for her). She keeps me smiling most definitely. She automatically wanted to get up and go out on the deck, which I was most thankful for, but trying to keep her quiet for Jeremy to continue to sleep along with the neighbors was nearly impossible. At first she was OK we just sat and enjoyed the view, but then she decided to sing, and when she sings, she sings LOUD! It was so funny, I couldn’t help but to laugh though. She would close her eyes and swing her hips, and just belt out her own made up song. Well, I say it was funny until Jeremy came to the door and reminded me that we probably had neighbors, even though tourist season is over with (praise the Lord).

When it finally got to be around 9:30 we went down to our chairs (we are blessed also because Pastor Johnny and Mrs. Janet, rent the “nice wooden chairs with an umbrella” year round). They have their names painted on them! Well, anyways while on the way to our chairs, Haley eyed the showers, and oh how she loves the outside shower! She would stand there all day if we would let her. I finally convinced her to go down to our chairs, and we played in the sand and then we took her into the water and she absolutely loved it! The funny thing is, she has this new fascination with sharks, not just Nemo, Dori, and Bubbles (characters from Finding Nemo), but she absolutely loves sharks. So we’re out in the ocean and she keeps squealing shark! Shark! She’s loud, but luckily no one heard her, or I am positive the beach would have been empty.

This afternoon Haley took a very long nap! And Jeremy was such an angel who volunteered to stay up stairs while she slept, so I trotted down and laid in the gorgeous sun. (He said he really wanted to though because he wanted his time in the chase lounge to be able to read, so I wasn’t gonna leave him on mommy duty to be mean or bossy, but if he wanted to volunteer I was great with that, I’m not a complete bum though, because I’ve been getting up with her at night). When she woke up they came back down to the beach, and again we went splashing in the water, and this
time we could hardly get Haley out she was having so much fun!

Then tonight, we ate dinner on our deck. This place is so nice I even volunteered to cook dinner! As we were sitting there eating and enjoying each other, without having to be on a strict schedule (when me and Haley are privileged to travel with Jeremy, he’s usually on a pretty strict work schedule) I watched the sun go down and just kept looking at God’s creation and beauty. It’s so amazing to watch the sun set with my favorite colors pink and orange, and to know that my Lord and Savior created it all! It was just amazing! I feel bad for people who’ve never taken the time to watch the sunset, who’ve never sat there and just breathed in and enjoyed the salty ocean air, and enjoyed the sand between their toes. What a gift it is to enjoy such a gorgeous creation!

Vacation Day 1 (Monday)

Jeremy, Haley and myself have been truly blessed! Pastor Johnny and Mrs. Janet allowed us to come down yesterday after church and stay free this week in there absolutely, most gorgeous condo, here in beautiful Panama City, FL (this is one hour down the coast from where I grew up in Pensacola Beach, FL). For those of y’all who’ve never been here been to the pan handle of Florida, you don’t know what you’re missing, it’s prettier than both Mexico and the Bahamas and most definitely anywhere on the Atlantic. The sand is snow white and even when you’re in water up to your neck you can still see your toes clearly. I should know I’m a true born and bread beach bum, and I’m proud of it!

Anyways about the condo, like I said it’s absolutely gorgeous, and it takes a lot for me to say things like that, because most people don’t share my taste. Needless to say it takes a lot to impress me. But this place is gorgeous. My favorite is the guest bathroom and bedroom. The bathroom is orange, with you guessed it, a hot pink, orange and yellow polka-dotted shower curtain, rug and towels. The guest room has hot pink, orange, lime green and yellow bedding. It has stripes, with flip-flops, beach bags, and palm trees. It is so cute! This is my dream bedding and bathroom (not the actual bed though because it’s a bunk bed and I’m extremely anti-bunk beds and so are most pediatricians). Our room is huge! It has a king sized bed! And the actual furniture is really pretty and our bathroom is orange too! (Pink is my favorite, but I do have a passion about orange as well, or for that matter bright, funky colors). The living room is a pretty green and the couch is bright red! Our porch is huge! There are 2 tables on it and a chase lounge, and I forgot to tell you that we’re on the 17th floor! That’s not including the parking deck below the building, if you count that, were on the 20th floor! Talk about a view! It is so amazing!

Enough about how gorgeous this place is, we had a great day! It was cool this morning and we took a walk on the beach, but by this afternoon it was hot! We saw quite a few dolphins swimming out in the gulf (yeah! that means no sharks, but to FYI, that’s another great thing about the gulf, there are much fewer sharks compared to the Atlantic)! We also sat on our huge deck and enjoyed the view, and just hung out. Jeremy says he’s thankful that I’m not one who needs to be doing something all the time. I told him I was thankful that he was the same way. Haley has also enjoyed herself. She loves to chase the seagulls on the beach, she loves to get in the gulf, she loves her room, she loves to go outside on the deck and she has claimed the chase lounge as hers! Can’t blame her, but maybe tomorrow while she’s taking her nap me or Jeremy can enjoy it as well. This is by far the best vacation so far. It’s free! We’re on the gulf coast, we’re in a beautiful place, and it’s just the 3 of us being beach bums. Life can’t get much better than this!
